Saturated Fat (Lipids)
Saturated fats are a type of fat that contain long chains of hydrogenated fatty acids. They are usually solid at room temperature and are considered a high-calorie source.
Consuming large amounts of saturated fats is associated with increased levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) in the blood, which may increase the risk of heart disease and stroke.
Many health organizations recommend limiting saturated fat intake to less than 10% of total daily calories. It is preferable to replace them with unsaturated fats, such as monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats.
